Alaska's History

The museum collects a wide variety of historical artifacts representing Alaska life in the  19th and 20th centuries. Items may either be unusual or rare, or widely-used commonplace items. The collecting goal is to evenly cover Alaska's history to support museum exhibits and research.

Used by Alaskan George Comstock for salt water swimming on Kuiu Island in the 1930s.

"Bunny Boots"
The boots, originally made for military use beginning in the 1950s, are popular among Alaskan civilians. Used by Lanny Hotrum of Juneau. Anonymous Gift
