The natural and phenomenological worlds are inspiration and contemplation, as well as the subject and object of my art.
Water, trees, ground..Wind, fog and tides.
In photography, abstraction and simplification help me to communicate some essential qualities of the world in which I feel most at home.
Whether I am straddling an almost frozen creek, hoping it will support me and my tripod, or in my studio making up worlds with paper and light, there is exhilaration in capturing an ephemeral moment.
I want to make this moment visible, to share with the viewer my awe, reverence and perhaps a sense of fragility of this world of things both seen with our eyes, and yet perceived with all of our senses.
